(1) SwimJoy Solar Pool Heater Panel (4′ X 7.5′). OPEN BOX CONDITION : SolarPoolSupply adheres to an extremely strict standard of quality control. These are panels with minor/moderate scratching on the panel body or manifold from warehousing & transportation. Our “Open Box” listings are likely the best value products of anything we carry. These are ONLY available while supplies last. All Open-Box orders include a free repair kit in the unlikely event a riser tube needs to be repaired. We do not accept the return of any open box condition item. Please verify you have selected the correct size before processing your order. HOW MANY PANELS DO I NEED? Step 1 – Overview. A few different variables should be considered when selecting a solar pool heating system to match your swimming pool. The primary factors are; your location (climate), pool size (surface area), and heating goals (how long your looking to extend your swimming season). Understanding exactly what your goals are will help determine how many panels you need and which system to ultimately select. Solar pool heaters are available in a couple different types, each with its own advantages and “ideal fit”. Because solar pool heating systems are dependent on weather and sunlight, these figures can only be used as an estimation, they cannot be guaranteed. Step 2 – Measure Your Swimming Pool. Solar pool heating systems are sized based on the. Of your swimming pool, rather than its volume. This is because the primary source of heat loss occurs through evaporation at the surface. If you have a geometrically shaped pool, this calculation is quite easy. If however, your swimming pool is a “freeform” shape, or a “kidney” shape, this calculation can be a bit more difficult. For pools matching this second classification, see our step-by-step instructions for using Google Maps to measure your pool (Step 2B). Formulas for Geometrically Shaped Pools. Pr² (radius being half the diameter of your pool, p=3.14). L x W (length x width). Step 3 – Calculate Solar Coverage, “Offset”. Generally speaking, solar pool heating systems are sized anywhere between 50%-100% of a swimming pools total surface area. IE: “50% offset” means you are matching 50% of your pool’s surface area to the total surface area of all your solar panels. If your pool has a total surface area of 400 square feet, 50% offset means you will need a total of 200 square feet of solar panels to heat it. As a reference; a single 4′x12.5′ solar panel has a surface area of 50 square feet, so a system with (4) 4′x12.5′ solar panels has a total surface area of 200 square feet. 3-4 Month Swimming Season. If you are only looking to add some additional heating during the summer months (3-4 months of warm swimming pool temperatures), 50% offset should be sufficient. 4-6 Month Swimming Season. If you are looking to heat your pool into the shoulder months (4-6 month swimming season), you will want to aim in the 60-80% range. 8-10 Month Swimming Season. If you are looking for a full spring-fall season extension (8-10 month swimming season), you will want to aim for 85%-100% offset. Step 4 – Climate Considerations. When it comes to location (climate), you will want to consider how cold/long your winter months are. Solar systems only work when the sun is out and shinning, they also need to be winterized (drained & isolated) for the winter months when temperatures drop below 42 degrees. They also need to be isolated when pools are shut down for the winter. For this reason, not all climate zones are capable of achieving a full spring through fall season extension. If you live in one of these colder climates, you will not be able to run your solar heater during these cold months when temperatures drop near freezing or below. If you are only able to keep your system running for 4-6 months a year, 50%-80% offset will be more than sufficient. Step 5 – Optimizing Efficiency. Other factors to consider are what direction the panels will be facing, how they are plumbed, and the amount of sun exposure each day. Solar pool heating systems will perform at optimal performance when the system is facing south, plumbed in parallel (if possible; to achieve a higher flow rate), and the system has full exposure during the day. If the panels are installed on a ground structure (ground rack), you will want a solid substrate beneath the panels to keep any wind from passing through the riser tubes (reduces wind load on the panels & restricts heat loss). Also, be sure the system is never installed at a pitch greater than 45 degrees (the angle the sunlight hits the panels does make a difference; efficiency nearly drops off the map once the pitch exceeds this maximum). Step 2B – Measuring Your Pool w/ Google Maps. How to Size Your Swimming Pool with Google Maps. Go to Google Maps. Type your address into the search bar and hit enter. Zoom into your address with either the mouse wheel or the (+/-) buttons located in the lower right-hand corner. To Edit Your Selection. You can move a selected point by clicking on the node, holding the mouse button, and moving it to the desired location. You can also erase and start over by right clicking anywhere on the screen and hitting “clear measurement”. This is the surface area that will be used to calculate what size system you need. Google Maps Example Pool Measurement. This tool also works well for measuring available roof space. (Satellite imaging provides pretty accurate measurements; however, they are not always 100% accurate and roof measurements should always be double checked by hand if possible). We house many different sizes & brands – we are capable of custom building virtually ANY package you need! Manufactured using a patented over-molding process whereby the headers and riser tubes become one piece, making the collectors extremely durable. Certified to withstand strong wind, violent storms are no match for SwimJoy’s durable panels and mounting method. Strap-free mounting pad system minimizes penetration points, increases aesthetic appeal. Water escapes completely, preventing freezing and cracked tubes. Separated tube design is less susceptible to “pinhole” leaks from freeze damage. Systems do still need to be plumbed properly and drained (winterized) in cold weather climates. SwimJoy panels are less susceptible to freeze damaged riser tubes, however this does not mean they 100% freeze-proof. Each tube opens directly into the header increasing flow and eliminating back-pressure. Lower head pressure keeps pumping requirements to a minimum which helps maximize efficiency. Eliminates wear and tear on pool pumps. Panels float above the roof, allowing it to breath and stay clean and dry. Innovative panel mounting system minimizes roof connections. One-piece panel design and superior mounting system eliminates the need for rubber hoses and metal hose clamps that require regular maintenance and replacement. Wide Range of Panel Sizes. SwimJoy installations are completely strap free! An individual tube design allows roofs to breathe, preventing moisture buildup and virtually eliminating wind loads. Furthermore, each panel contains a mounting sled every twelve inches down the length of the panel. These sleds prevent panel distortion and riser tube abrasion over time while also adding strength to the unit. Maximum Efficiency + Longer Operating Life. Its All About Flow! SwimJoy features an open flow design with each and every individual tube opening directly into the header, increasing flow and virtually eliminating backpressure, saving wear and tear on your pool pump. An individual tube design allows riser tubes to expand and contract independently; eliminating cracks and leaks due to wear and tear from thermal expansion and contraction. Low head-loss riser tubes eliminate high head pressures, maximize efficiency, and protect against clogging. The round design also captures more heat. SwimJoy’s unique square header shape maximizes flow and increases efficiency. Headers and risers are molded together forming one solid piece, eliminating seams and welds that can crack with age and stress. This produces the strongest possible connection and ensures a low maintenance system. The Industries Best Method for Connecting Panels & Piping! This thermostat is designed specifically for the hot tub, the thermostat is installed in the pipeline jacuzzi. When adding hot water bath, start the pump, the thermostat automatically heat insulation work, so the water temperature bath maintained at 39 degrees Celsius, give your Jacuzzi to create a more comfortable environment. The initial set temperature settings: COASTS equipped with ultra-high temperature protection thermostat switch, thermostat to limit overheating and protect users against danger, however, users should be done after the installation is complete, the first under the premise of safety checks to ensure that the operation of the thermostat’s normal function, By using the tub filled with water to a suitable level and start the system automatically checks and let the system run until the thermostat temperature stabilized at the highest level and display lights go out, use an accurate thermometer to measure the water temperature should be at 40 °C. COASTS thermostat operation is fully automated, clockwise, the heating is on, indicator light, temperature reaches a preset temperature, will remain at that temperature. The thermostat can be maintained within a temperature not exceeding 40 °C (104 °F) range. If cold water is started, will be 6 8 °C / h elevated temperatures. Automatic heating: thermostat will first reach the preset temperature, then stop working until the temperature dropped a few degrees, the thermostat automatically turns on. Ultra-high temperature (over 49 °C), ultra-high temperature switch will automatically trip (power off). Input voltage:220V 2. Current:13.6A 4. COASTS thermostat outlet to the bath tub in the middle of the pipe or valve or check valve can not be installed. 1 x 220V 3KW SPA Heater. We are not responsible for undeliverable address. Solar water heater, all glass 50 tube ETC evacuated tube. 3.5kW, 12,000BTU

Solar glass vacuum tube water heaters. (full 1800mm tubes including frame and manifold not the “mini” toy type). These are low-pressure evacuated tube collector (ETC) systems. What “low pressure” means is they are meant for use with swimming pool or jacuzzi pumps or hot water circulating pumps. They are not meant to be directly connected to the main water supply at full pressure. They do not have heat pipes. The water flows directly into the glass tubes. I have one full unit left for sale. A single 50 tube set of ETC tubes like this one converts 3.5kW of thermal energy on a clear sunny day. If you wanted to replace that with PV panels it would require fourteen 250 watt panels to replace one single 50 tube ETC system. This ETC solution is not only more powerful and compact than PV, it is much lower in cost and allows more options in terms of mounting angles and involves no electronics other than the existing pump. Think about the no electronics part when considering the options. Busted electronic controls are a gravy train for pool and spa repair shops. I had to raise my price a bit because of the Trump (now Biden) tariffs. This product is on the tariff list and the price went up 35%. The fifty tube sets give you much more bang for the buck. Total power is 70W per tube so 50 tubes is 3.5kW of thermal output in full sun. How much is that in hot tub terms? I can list some examples. Let’s use 500 gallons as our hot tub size. One single 50 tube unit would raise the water temperature from 75F to 85F in two hours. Do keep in mind that solar thermal works best in clear skies. If you’re in a foggy place this might not be the most appropriate choice. If you’re inland though, this solution is definitely going to be cheaper and more efficient than using PV solar with a heat pump. Glass solar collectors 1800mmX58mm borosilicate glass. Header tube (where the hot water flows) stainless steel. Outlet = stainless 1″ NPS male thread (DN 25 OD 1.3.15″). For more info on the thread please look up the phrase “Nominal Pipe Size”. Typically used with a storage tank/heat exchanger and electric hot water pump. Storage tank and pumps not included. Using a 15 tube unit we have been able to heat a six person jacuzzi to around 110F with no additional energy input on sunny days starting around April on the Central Coast of California using a 90 watt circulating pump. That was in the summer but it was also just fifteen tubes. 50 tubes is powerful heat source when combined with a small pump or wired straight into the hot tub pump. Tip: To estimate the heat concentration of a vacuum tube system use 70W per tube. So, ten tubes would be 700 watts of heat in full sun. Fifty tubes would be 3.5kW thermal energy. That is an abundance of energy conversion going on all day while the sun is shining. These units get hot enough to produce steam under normal use. Glass is a whole different game than a coil of plastic tubing. Power is one thing though, t. He real magic is that you can store that energy as hot water. Free fuel plus low-cost storage equals the most appropriate renewable technology for hot tub and pool heating. From the sky to your nice hot tub with no bills and no contracts. If you’re in a sunny desert with clear skies, these things should perform exceptionally. On the Central Coast of California they produce steam easily. That’s quite powerful. New in box, imported from China. Manufactured by EJAI Solar. One of the largest solar tube manufacturers in China. I’m an authorized distributor for California. Feel free to ask any questions or make an offer. Location is off 101 freeway between LA and San Francisco at the intersection of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. The boxes weigh around 280lbs total per 50 tube set and come in the following dimensions. (width X height X length in inches). 13 X 7 X75 glass solar tubes (X3 boxes of 10). 7 X 7 X 96 metal manifold + accessories. 6 X 5 X 93 metal frame + accessories. None of the boxes is over fifty pounds except the frames. The frames for the fifty tube units are quite heavy at around 80lbs. For swimming pools, the factory recommends at least 20kW or 300 tubes for small in-ground pools around 5000 gallons. You need a lot of tubes to do a good pool heating job and it has been cost prohibitive in the past but I think that even with the tariffs and other associated costs of importing them these designs are already low cost because other heat sources are not free either. Go straight to the source in terms of energy and store it in your pool. It’s between you and the sun. The down side is that these things are indeed massive and heavy and fragile. For a single unit or two pretty much any truck and many vans will do. The tubes are about six feet long so if you stack two wide in each of these 50 tube vertical manifolds and add some space for the manifold you’re talking about a square at least seven feet by thirteen feet. They’re very big. This vertical manifold design is a cool new trick. When you’re plumbing into this you can add a drain valve if you like. That’s one way that these horizontal units can be easier to maintain for a pool where you’re directly running the pool water into the glass tubes. I know there are so many pools out in the desert that would be great with solar heating and get lots of bright sun on cool winter days. Places in the desert with 5000 gallon swimming pools are really what I’m thinking of as a target market but no matter what the location is very key point is whether you really have space for these things. A jacuzzi seems like an obvious fit. If you have or if you know of someone who has a pool that has a nearby south facing wall or a large adjacent area with sun exposure during the day this could be an ideal pool heating solution. These tubes work at all different angles and can even be hung on a vertical wall. A bit of trivia for interested readers. These tubes are also sometimes called “thermal diodes” because the heat can only flow in one direction. The tubes are also called “frequency converters” and that’s quite literally a description of how they work. The coating on the inside is not just black paint but actually is a kind of cermet (ceramic + metal) semiconductor (aluminum nitride) which converts UV light to Infrared (heat). Visible and UV light are converted to infrared on the inner layer of the selectively coated innter glass tube. Borosilicate glass used in vacuum tubes is relatively UV transparent down to around 330nm. The aluminum nitride UV frequency converter coating is very thin and if the tubes break the inner-tube can still be used for glassblowing by removing the aluminum nitride layer. An easy way to do that is by scraping. It with aluminum foil.
