Solar Heating Controller Digital Space Age SC3D. Swimming Pool Solar Controller Space Age SC3D. Model SC3D has all the features of the SC2D with additional features such as Sample & Hold temperature display. The SC3D is a microprocessor driven solar controller used to heat your pool/spa from your solar collector. The controller does this by sensing the temperature on the roof and the temperature of the pool. If the roof temperature rises 7 degrees above the pool water temperature, and the pool temperature is below the set point, then the controller will switch on power to the solar pump, which will cycle the pool water through the collector to heat the water and then return it to the pool. If the pool water temperature rises 1 degree above the set point, or the roof temperature falls to within 2 degrees of the temperature of the pool water, the controller will switch off power to the solar pump. Model SC3D is a microprocessor controlled unit having a digital display of Pool/Set/Roof temperatures, with user selections. This unit has a’Winter Mode’ which is automatically selected when the sensors are turned OFF.
