Swimming Pool Budget Solar Controller inc Roof and Pump Sensors. Budget Swimming Pool Solar Controller SC1. The SC1 is a very basic solar controller used to heat your pool/spa from your solar collector. The controller does this by sensing the temperature on the roof and the temperature of the pool. If the roof temperature rises 7 degrees above the pool water temperature, and the pool temperature is below the set point, then the controller will switch on power to the solar pump, which will cycle the pool water through the collector to heat the water and then return it to the pool. If the pool water temperature rises 1 degree above the set point, or the roof temperature falls to within 2 degrees of the temperature of the pool water, the controller will switch off power to the solar pump. The SC1 has a brass jacketed pool water sensor which is inserted into the Suction pipe using a grommet. The GL-235 incorporates unique, microprocesser based construction to ensure reliability and accurate performance. The GL-235 offers advanced operating features to provide differential temperature control, selectable high limit, programmable recirculation freeze protection, nocturnal cooling and optional booster pump control. AUTOMATIC HEATING: If the collectors are warmer than the pool water by 4 N or more, and the pool is below the selected desired temperature, the valve will rotate allowing heat collection. This heat collection will stop when the solar sensor falls to within 1.5 N F of the pool temperature or the pool temperature exeeds the desired temperature set on dial. AUTOMATIC COOLING: (Field selectable option) If the collectors are cooler than the pool water by 6 N F or more, and the pool is above the selected desired temperature, the valve will rotate allowing cooling via the solar collectors. The heat dissipation will stop when the collectors rise within 3 N F of the pool temperature or the pool temperature is lowered below the set desired temperature.
